You have probably come across Lali’s new song “Wavy” which is making waves across the country. The song is a dope tune by all standards. Lali was blessed to have Cool V, yet another rising sensation, feature on the track. The song talks about how we try to be cool and carry ourselves so well even though we have no money.
The visuals for the song was posted on Youtube just last week and it has amassed over a thousand views already.
“Lali” cut short from Delali, is a sensational rising afrobeats artiste from Ghana. His full name is Donald Delali Darke; born and bred in a Ga home and currently resides in North Kaneshie. He is currently a student of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, studying Business Administration.
So one may ask, “why should a business student of his sort venture into music?” Well, Lali has had a thing for music since infancy. Growing up, he had siblings who really loved music. He grew up listening to Akon, Michael Jackson and the likes. He was however inspired to delve into music as a career through listening to Sarkodie way back in 2012. Despite writing other songs, which were mainly rap, with time and practice, he professionally released his first song “Esinam”- the perfect afrobeats song in 2017, which gained much traction in most Senior High Schools of which Accra Academy, his very own SHS was no exception. It was played at every single entertainment night. This song went a long way to pave way for Lali’s music career as it won SRC and other school awards.
Gingered by the success of the first single, he went on to release yet another mind-blowing masterpiece – “Mind Games”. The song, which fuses Ga, Pidgin and English into an impeccable embodiment of art, has done so well on the charts since its release in 2020.
It is also worth noting that aside the major projects, Lali drops a series of freestyle sessions once a while on his Youtube titled “Lali’s Voice. This just goes to show how multi-talented the lad is. You should check them out.
